For over five centuries, Oxford has celebrated May Morning.

At 6 am, the Magdalen College Choir sings the Hymnus Eucharisticus from the top of Magdalen Tower. Shortly after, the streets fill with music, Morris dancers and people adorned with flowers, greenery, and garlands.

This ongoing photographic project documents the atmosphere of the celebration as it is experienced in the streets, capturing the energy, movement and communal spirit of the event. Built up year by year, the project aims to create a visual record of how May Morning is lived and enjoyed today.
